Abstract

Gili Iyang Island is part of a small island located east of Madura Island, specifically in Sumenep Regency. To date, Gili Iyang Island is known as the oxygen island. The high oxygen content is thought to be related to the vegetation on Gili Iyang Island. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to analyze the structure and dominance of Phanerogamae vegetation based on the Importance Value Index on Gili Iyang Island, Sumenep-Madura. The research station location was determined using purposive sampling, consisting of 7 observation stations, with each station having 3 observation plots determined using the transect method with data analysis using the Importance Value Index. Meanwhile, the results of the study showed that there were 78 species of Phanerogamae vegetation identified and analyzed using the Importance Value Index with varying values. The highest Importance Value Index was for the species Lannea coromandelica from the Anacardiaceae family, with an Importance Value Index of 32.487.
