Studi Etnozoologi Ikan Hias Kelompok Nelayan Samudera Bakti Desa Bangsring Wongsorejo Banyuwangi Ethnozoology Study about Ornamen Fish of the Samudera Bakti Fisherman Group in Bangsring Wongsorejo Banyuwangi
Main Article Content
Abstract
Indonesia is a maritime country that has the potential of marine ornamental fish is quite large. The management of marine natural resources has been widely developed by fishermen. This study aims to determine the types of ornamental fish caught by Samudera Bakti fisherman group and the ornamental fishing process. The method used is qualitative descriptive with field observation, interview and identification of ornamental fish. The results of this study fisherman catch ornamental fish on Monday - Friday by using tools nets, scoop net and compressor as a breathing apparatus. Fishermen catch fish in the dry season while the rainy season does not catch. The captured fish species consisted of 35 species belonging to 16 families and new species. Environmental management is done that is catching fish according to size and amount that have been determined, not damage and step on coral reef. Abstinence when catching ornamental fish is not to dispose of hot water and ‘sambel’ (chillies paste) into the sea water because fishermen believe it can reduce the sustenance. If the ornamental fish begin to decrease the Bangsring fishermen perform a ritual in the form of offerings i.e 7 Flowers, 7 traditional foods, red-white of ‘jenang’ (red-white porridge) with grated coconut and incense, placed on the boat when catching ornamental fish.
