Pengaruh Lama Penyimpanan Benih Tembakau (Nicotiana tabacum) Terhadap Viabilitas Benih Dengan Menggunakan Metode UDK (The Influence of Storage Duration Againts Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) Seed Viability by Using UDK Method)

Abstract
Seed testing is important, means farmers avoid any kinds of losses that can happen in their farming implementation. The purpose of this research is to learn how to examine seed viability by examining the germanition and amount of water. The method was used experiment with Complete Randomized Design and four replications. The observed parameter is the normal quantity of germination, for amount water with performing calculation on seed before and after oven. Data analysis using SPSS V17 for ANOVA and Duncan examination. The result of the research shows that the germination which is already stored and not stored yet has a significant difference. The percentage of germination capacity decreased along with the storage time which is 96% not stored seed, 94.65% after the seed stored (5 years), 85.35% (10 years), 73.6% (15 years), 25.3% (20 years), and 6% (25 years). The duration of storage 5 up to 10 years tend still well because the germination capacity are over 80%. The duration storage does not affect the seed’s amount of water.

ABSTRAK
Pengujian benih sangat penting, terujinya benih berarti terhindarnya para petani dari berbagai kerugian yang dapat timbul dalam pelaksanaan usaha taninya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui perbedaan daya kecambah benih yang belum disimpan dan benih yang sudah disimpan, kadar air sebelum dan sesudah disimpan,. Metode yang digunakan yaitu eksperimen dengan Rancangan Acak Lengkap, 4 kali ulangan. Parameter yang digunakan untuk daya kecambah yaitu dengan menghitung jumlah kecambah normal, untuk kadar air yaitu dengan melakukan perhitungan pada benih sebelum dan sesudah di oven. Sedangkan analisis data menggunakan SPSS V17 untuk uji ANAVA dan uji Duncan. Hasil Penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa daya kecambah benih yang belum disimpan dengan benih yang sudah disimpan memiliki perbedaan yang nyata. Persentase daya kecambah benih mengalami penurunan seiring dengan lama penyimpanannya, yaitu 96% benih yang belum disimpan, 94,65% sesudah benih disimpan (5 tahun), 85,35% (10 tahun), 73,6% (15 tahun), 25,3% (20 tahun), dan 6% (25 tahun). Lama penyimpanan 5 sampai 10 tahun masih baik karena daya kecambahnya di atas 80%. Lama penyimpanan tidak berpengaruh terhadap kadar air benih
